Burt's Bees

While on my plane ride back from the depths of time, I forgot to put my lip balm in my carry-on bag. That journey = longest plane ride of my entire life.
Anyone who uses lip balm religiously knows that your lips get the driest when you know you don't have any accessible stick of chap. Your lack of soothing wax taunts you, torments you until you become desperate enough to ask a companion for a swipe of their choice brand.
(I never, ever do this. I would rather feel like my lips have been scorched by desert's sandy winds and the sun's persistent rays than use another person's chapstick.)
I've experienced the Bonnebell plethora of flavors, the Chapstick chapstick, and generic balms, but none have compared to the minty simplicity that is Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm.
All natural, no animal testing, and, according to my tube, 30% post-industrial content.
Good for my lips, good for the Earth.

  1. I have to say that I prefer black-tubed Chapstick 'Classic'. Its taste is like none other.

  2. I have to disagree with that... Burt's Bees give you that nice tingly feeling on your lips. Also- the classic chapstick does not taste delicious...

  4. Hey
yall should check out my new blog http://stairfucker.blogspot.com/
i review records in a very concise manner
it's destined to be the new pitchfork

also, burt's bees is great except for the honey flavored lip balm. it tastes like drew carey.

  5. Intensity, you are wrong.
Hannah, you are right. Except sometimes the tingle is painful when one's lips are super chapped.
Willa, Flyhunniez gained its blogosphere hype through sensational journalism alone. No ads on other blogs. Your time will come.

  6. h'boldt, take note that I did not say it tastes delicious. It does not taste delicious. It does, however, taste like none other.

  7. burt's=mainstream
    chap classic=so retro.

"9 out of 10 sorority girls prefer burt's"

  8. 10 out of 10 serial killers prefer classic Chapstick over Burt's Bees claiming classic Chapstick tastes like "none other".

  9. D.Bade - when the tingle is painful, that's when you go for Burt's Pomegranate instead. Will is right on one thing, the honey kind is totally awful.

Chap Classic - the chapstick you find in the glovebox of the car three years after you put it there because it sucks so much.

  10. I actually saw something on the Today show about this a few years back. People were actually forming addictions, and yeah, as I typed this, I reapplied.

My most recent chapstick find is Blistex Silk & Shine. Not sticky at all- it seriously feels like silk. Go for it.

  11. I have a fondness for the Blistex Complete Moisture. There is somthing about the scent that is so delicious, I can't even handle it.

Chapstick original: you remind me of my mother.

I also enjoy the Burt's Bees tinted ones. They are less about the moisture and lip revitalization, but they have such lovely colors

  12. Some out of the way favorite lip treatments of mine:

I am in love with my J.R. Watkins Baume Pour Les Lèvres, essense: Framboise.
Purchased at my local food co-op, this always does the trick. The downside is the less than attractive white layer after applying.

    Second favorite:
CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint (Tint No 1137)
Give the delightful tingle of the Burt's classic with the color of the tinted Burt's. Unfortunately lacks sufficient healing powers.
